The daffodils are blooming! The daffodils are blooming! The daffodils are blooming! That must mean that the first day of spring is a couple of days away. In the last one and a half months we've gone from 70 degrees to 14" of snow (in 2 hours) to 60 degrees to more snow to the river flowing 17 feet above normal. Just when I'm starting to wonder about living in the mountains, the daffodils are starting to come out and if I look at the tree branches, I can see that leaves are just starting to come out as well.
It lets me know that another winter is coming to close (just think, by some estimates the New River is over 300,000,000 years old - that is a lot of springs) and that summer biking, hiking & kayaking are soon to follow.
